The Workforce Development Center assists local youth in preparing for their future.  Workforce professionals connect youth to a large range of comprehensive, holistic services that include the following:

  • Tutoring & mentoring
  • Career assessment and planning
  • Work experience
  • Internships
  • Skills to  find, get, and keep jobs
  • Training & Education
  • Exposure to exciting creative ventures like film-making (Film Seed), pod-casting, & starting a business
  • Specialized help for teen parents truants
  • Work permits

Who is Eligible?

All Racine county youth are welcome to visit the Workforce Development Center and meet with Career Discovery Specialist.  The Career Discovery Specialist will work on an individual basis to acquaint visitors with on-site resources and determine which services best meet one’s individual needs

Youth between the ages of 16-21 may be eligible for intensive services through one of the center’s contracted providers.  These services are provided within the center as well as throughout the community.  Eligibility is primarily based on income, but some services are based upon other circumstances.

Services are at no cost!

Youth services are provided at no cost to the customer, with the exception of work permits which require a fee.
