Need to improve your English skills?  If English is not your first language and you would like to improve your speaking and writing abilities, you can benefit by taking English As a Second Language (ESL) classes at the Workforce Development Center`s Academic Improvement Area.  Classes are offered Monday - Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Classes are for all levels--beginner, intermediate, and advanced.  They include reading, writing and speaking as well as grammar and listening skills.  The WDC is located at 1717 Taylor Avenue, Racine, WI 53403.

Learn how to use the computer or improve your present skills in the WDC`s Academic Improvement Center.  Watch videos, listen to self-paced multimedia tutorials and do hands on mini-lessons to help you learn Windows 95, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.  Improve your typing skills with our keyboarding programs.  Come in when you can!

You can actually make money while you are learning a trade or occupation with the Wisconsin Registered Apprenticeship Program. Apprenticeships combine on-the-job training with classroom instruction. Plus, the Apprentice will be getting the technical back-up necessary for a complete understanding of their chosen field. Just a few hours a week at your local technical college pays off big at the workplace where you can use your knowledge in a practical application.
